everyone wants to get vaccinated. and the g-20 wraps up with a global commitment to fight economic crisis. but that's not what everyone's talking about. how iran stole the spotlight at the summit. good morning washington saturday starts right now. >> hi, and good morning, washington. thanks for joining us on this saturday, september 26. we're going to get to this morning's top stories in a moment. but first, a quick check of the saturday forecast. adam caskey live in the weather center. it feels pretty good out there. are they going to stick around? >> it feels great. though it's not going to necessarily look too great. if you have the outdoors activity planned for this afternoon and tonight, you may want to head indoors because we are looking at some of the heaviest rain that we've seen in several weeks probably coming our way later on today. but first, let's talk

temperature. martins burgh, 607. dew points are low. low humidity. comfortable start to our day. reagan national is at 61. we have a few showers to talk about. let's go to our storm scan. area of low pressure moving to the we have not and its cold front. already some shower action pushing through west virginia on towards the shenandoah valley. some of those morning actions in west virginia, it looks like it's going to hit us in a couple of hours but it's falling apart as it hits the ridge of high pressure over ihedigbo. but that ridge is only going to protect us this morning. otherwise, that plume of moisture is going to push on in throughout the midday and especially afternoon evening and overnight hours. we could be talking about a half an inch or more tomorrow morning. here's the forecast for today. mainly gray skies. a little bit of sunshine. 68, the high temperature. well below average. most of the rain holding off until the afternoon and especially this evening.

but a few sprinkles out west. >> thank you for that. today, the question is why? why did a family of four have to die? police found the victims in their home in their 300 block of contour road in mt. airy last night. that's when john gonzalez has the latest on this gruesome discovery. well, just a twrerble situation here. it is still very early in the investigation. we understand police found the body at around 5:40 friday afternoon. it took them about four hours to obtain a search warrant. eventually, they went back into the home to do a thorough investigation. they tell us this appears to a husband and a wife and their two young children. a basketball hoop and a for sale sign stand in the front yard from outside this home looks like all the others on this quiet mt. airy street but a discovery has neighbors shaken and stunned. >> i just felt empty inside. >> after not flaring the family for a couple of days, a friend

stopped by to see if everything and everyone was ok. well, they weren't. by then, it was too late. the family friend saw one of the bodies through the window and called the police more >> the issue of murder-suicide is on the list of potents that investigators are considering but it is just far too early to make any kind of determination like that. >> police say an adult woman and male were found along with a teenage boy and a young girl. >> just terrible that something would overwhelm a family like that and have something to end it all the children. the children is the worst part. >> the boy was in sports. he played football. the girl was kind of quiet. but it's very, very sad. today is a very, very sad day. >> neighbor deborah naples attended high school with the boy, believed to be about 14 years old, a freshman. >> he was a nice kid. he was like very outgoing. he played football for the freshman team. >> we understand the young girl

was in the first grade. police are not release identities or cause of death but it does appear to be murder-suicide. there is no active search for a suspect. >> and of course we'll keep you updated in the action. do not be alarmed if you see emergency responses. they're holding drills in the city. this training is part of national preparedness month. if you take metro this weekend, expect delays on the orange line. track maintenance could add up to 30 minutes to your trip. trains will be single tracking between the she everly and stadium armory station all day today and tomorrow. drivers on the beltway should find smooth sailing. all lanes are opened after complete closer caused overnight delays. richard reed tells us what the construction is all about.

seasonal protection and h-1 protection. >> a new national poll finds only 40% of parents plan to vaccinate their kids against h1n1. locally, some hospitals are requiring that health care workers get the swine flu vaccine, something that employees and union are objected to. very few doctors and nurses choose to get vaccinated eac year. president obama says leaders from the world's top 20 economies are united in fixing the global market. the g-20 summit wrapped up in pittsburgh with agreements to keep stimulus plan going in several countries, to keep the recovery from derailing. the second day of the summit put the heat on iran. the u.s., britain, and france are demanding iran come clean on its nuclear plan and if iran doesn't agree to international inspections, president obama says military action could be next. a bribery scandal could be

growing for a top aid to a powerful d.c. councilman. councilman jim graham's chief of staff has been dieted for taking trips and bribes for influencing agents. agents who raided graham's office were looking for papers related to fiesta d.c. d.c. is latina festival. the organization has seen a huge increase in city grants. >> the dots don't connect. you can throw all this information up but it doesn't connect. >> that "washington post" -- "the washington post" reports the 18-month long probe included wiretaps and a letter to his stits. councilman graham said he did not engage in illegal barrel. he has postponed a hearing on pending taxi cab legislation. it is 6:09. 60 degrees outside. still to come on good morning washington saturday, chilly new details from the f.b.i. about the bomb squad on new york city.

>> hi, and good morning to you. here's a look at some of this morning's top stories. a 16-year-old is under arrest in southern california accused in more than a dozen arsons that sparked wildfires dating back to 2006 when the suspect was just 13. authorities say the teen is facing several charges. this morning, tylenol is recalling some children's and

infant tylenol made between april and june of 2008. bacteria was found in the raw material of an ingredient but not bacteria were found in the finished product. the recall is just a precaution. and a college freshman from annapolis has died after a lightning strike at a north carolina beach. he was swimming and surfing with a group of friends when lightning struck the water. it took hours to find the teen's body. he was a student at the university of north carolina at wilmington. a terror plot on the quantico a routine base is several uncovered this week. the f.b.i. arrested the suspects in north carolina earlier this summer but they just released how extensive the plans were to attack u.s. troops here and abroad. meanwhile, a denver man is now in the city agent say he planned to bomb. prosecutor says the suspect is on the verge of unleashing his attack on the new york on the seven anniversary until he was

tipped off by police surveillance. lindsey davis has more. >> friday evening, this 24-year-old arrived in new york, the same city federal agents say he and other suspects plan to attack. >> i think this is as close as we have come since 9/11 to having a major terrorist attack on u.s. territory. >> he was initially charged in colorado with lying to a federal agent but those charges were dropped on friday. he now faces more serious terrorism charges in new york. officials say he shopped attributey stores for bomb supplies that contained in the same ingredients used in the london attacks. >> it's so readily available and it flies under the radar when you purchase it he may have planned to put several bombs on or around the seven anniversary but federal authorities spoil that plan and two unrelated terror plots around the country. >> honestly, i'm thankful but

it's a bit frightening. there could be another guy out there doing the same thing. thousands of people were inside this skyscraper when the f.b.i. said the 19-year-old and an illegal imgrand was trying to blow it up. but it was a sting operation. the bomb was fake and so were the explosives in springfield, illinois, where the f.b.i. was coord knitting another sting operation. officials say this man, michael citizenton was trying to blow up the federal courthouse. in both the illinois and dallas cases, decoys were gen for men posing as al qaeda operatives. >> there are two more arrests in the beating death of a d.c. pieria owner. police arrested two men and charged them with last month's murder of a 44-year-old inside the pizza mall in northeast.

a third suspect was arrested shortly after the crime. police think it was a green card marriage deal gone sour. annapolis democrats have have a new nominee in the race for mayor. the democratic central committee selected josh coen last night. he came in a close second. pier withdrew wednesday amid controversies over financial matter. he will face chris fox in november. there will be a replaying ceremony this morning at mt. vernon in remembrance of the slaves who lived at george washington's virginia home. it will feature dramatic readings, performances and music on the historic property. george mason university is first in line in virginia to get millions of dollars to pay for upgrades at the fairfax and prince williams services. they received a total or $40

myersville at 56. in falls church, it's 58. stafford right now. and even 59. dew point numbers in the low to mid 50's. behind the cold front that we had a few days ago, it's going to remain comfortable through the next few days and we have another cold front on tap to move through early next week causing some big changes as well. chevy chase is 58. arlington 60. martinsburg, 60. let's go to our storm scan. we have a few showers on elkins, wsm some moderate rain into western virginia. a few late showers to the southeastern from harrisburg towards charlottesville and roaching richmond. that action will stay to our south this morning. but notice this blob of rain on the radar screen pushing east. it's rush running into a ridge of high pressure. it's not going to make too much

progression. most of the ray, most of the moisture is still out to our westnd still developing. this action is in the midsection of the country. look at this plume of moisture. just arcing up and into the mid atlantic light now. that will continue to march our way. and we'll see most of our rain later on this afternoon through the evening and into early tomorrow. so let's go to the service map. we have this area of low pressure passing through our region. cold front moving through. not going to do so much temperature-wise. the area of low pressure will cause off and on showers by. then this cold front will come in screaming behind that area of low pressure for early next week. probably a late monday frontal passage and behind that cold front, we will have cooler and fall-like conditions for the middle and latter half of next week. for tod, becoming rainy. a little bit of morning sunshine. don't let that get you too excited because overall, a

county home a murder scene. police found four family members dead inside a home in mt. airy. kathy park is there with the latest development. kathy, good morning to you. >> good morning, kourtney. neighbors described this area as relatively quiet. you can image the shock when the news of this spread. police told us each person in the house behind me sustained trauma. no word as to how exactly that happened. as of last night, investigators told us there is no active search for a suspect. neighbors in this mt. airy community are still in disbelief. >> i just felt empty inside. it's off. >> police say a call came in friday afternoon reporting a bod through the window of this split level home. the concerned friend made the discovery after going days without hearing from the family. by 5:30, authorities found four bodies, a man, a woman, plus a teenage boy and a young girl. >> the issue of murder-suicide

eligible for government-backed loans. they made their last train, but almost had to spend the night in the station of van dorin street station. the manager accidentally locked four metro riders in the station. the manager thought this last train had come in through and locked up. about 30 minutes after he left, the train pulled in, the four customers found they couldn't get out. they ultimately called metro police to unlock the gates. metro is gaying and they say this situation is very rare. two schools in harrisburg, virginia dealing with a possible swine flu outbreak. almost 80 students are staying home with flu-like symptoms. both buildings are being scrub. none of the cases have been confirmed as h1n1 because the tests, they're too expensive. and starting today, d.c.'s bending road trash transfer station will no longer accept

tonight. lighter rain start the midday and especially afternoon hours. ok. so let's go to the graphics and take a look at this system another view here. area of low pressure will fly northeast. most of the rain for the metro area will hold off until mid to late afternoon hours. this will moving from the west to the east. western metro, jewel yule have the rain earlier. east of the metro, you'll hold off until dinner time. in terms of accumulations, what can we expect? for the most part, i think average around an inch and a half. higher accumulations within some of the embedded downpours. one to two inches expect for our region. and further to the west and west virginia, two inches or more with this thick plume of moisture. it's very comfortable outside. temperatures around 60 degrees. marshall, culpepper as well. 61 in fair fact.
